Expatriation : le classement 2019 des villes africaines où il fait bon vivre

Le cabinet de conseil Mercer vient de publier son palmarès annuel sur la qualité de vie dans 231 villes du monde. Un bon indicateur pour qui ambitionne de s’expatrier en Afrique.

Pour la troisième année consécutive, la ville de Port-Louis à Maurice est considérée comme la plus agréable où s’expatrier en Afrique. Publié chaque année par le cabinet Mercer, spécialisé dans le conseil aux entreprises, le classement mondial sur la qualité de vie évalue l’attractivité de 231 villes à travers le monde, en tenant compte de 39 variables regroupées dans dix catégories comme l’offre en matière de divertissement, d’enseignement supérieur, de logement, ou encore la sécurité des personnes.

Afrique australe et Maghreb

Identique aux millésimes 2017 et 2018, le top 10 africain consacre l’Afrique du Sud qui place Durban, Le Cap et Johannesburg au haut de la liste malgré leurs mauvais résultats en matière de sécurité. Le Maroc se distingue également en plaçant Rabat et Casablanca parmi les métropoles les plus agréables à vivre pour les expatriés sur le continent.

De manière générale, l’Afrique australe se démarque puisqu’elle place neuf métropoles dans la moitié haute du classement, tout comme le Maghreb.

Qualité de vie difficile en Afrique centrale

À l’inverse, l’Afrique centrale se place majoritairement dans la moitié basse du tableau avec notamment Bangui, la capitale de République centrafricaine, reléguée à la dernière place du classement mondial.

Au classement global, le continent africain demeure plutôt mal placé contrairement aux métropoles européennes et asiatiques. Première au niveau régional, la ville de Port-Louis n’est que 83ème sur 231 villes évaluées. Et au total, 40 villes africaines sur 45 étudiées, se placent dans la moitié basse du classement.
